The human body is an incredible thing. Some of these facts may be hard to believe, but they are happening, inside of you, right now

Human fingers are so sensitive, that if your fingers were the size of Earth, you could feel the difference between a house and a car.

With the 60,000 miles of blood vessels inside the average human body, you could circumnavigate Earth two and a half times.

The human eye is so sensitive that if the Earth were flat, you could spot a candle flickering at night from up to 30 miles away.

Nerve impulses travel to and from the brain at speeds of up to 250 miles per hour, faster than a Formula 1 racecar.

When you blush, the lining of your stomach blushes too.

The human brain can read up to 1,000 words per minute.

Inside your belly button are thousands of bacteria that form an ecosystem the size of an entire rainforest.

When in love, the human brain releases the same cocktail of neurotransmitters and hormones that are released by amphetamines. This leads to increased heart rate, loss of appetite and sleep, and intense feelings of excitement.

You can see ultraviolet light, the ability is just filtered out by the eye's lens. Some people have undergone surgery to remove the lense and can detect ultraviolet light.

An adult is made up of 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (7 octillion) atoms. For perspective, there's a 'measly' 300,000,000,000 (300 billion) stars in our galaxy.

Our muscles are actually incredibly more powerful than they appear to be. Human strength is limited to protect our tendons and muscles from harming themselves. This limitation can be removed during an adrenaline rush, during which some people have lifted boulders or even cars off themselves.

We humans are the best long-distance runners on the planet. Better than any four-legged animal. In fact, thousands of years ago we used to run after our prey until they died of exhaustion.

A full head of human hair is strong enough to support 12 tonnes.

In 30 minutes, the human body gives off enough heat to bring a gallon of water to the boil

We have the same amount of hairs on our body as a chimpanzee. Most are useless and so fine that they are invisible.

The atoms that make up your human body today are same atoms that formed during the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago.

Human bone is as strong as granite. A block of bone the size of a matchbox could support nine tonnes of weight.

If the human brain were a computer, it could perform 38 thousand-trillion operations per second. The world's most powerful supercomputer, BlueGene, can manage only .002% of that.

The focusing muscles in your eyes move around 100,000 times a day. To give your leg muscles the same workout, you'd need to walk 50 miles.

For every pound of fat or muscle gained, your body creates seven miles of new blood vessels

Humans share 50% of their DNA with bananas.

Loneliness is physically painful. Just as you have a drive to avoid physical pain, you have a similarly powerful drive to connect with others and seek companionship - in order to avoid the pain of loneliness.

A single human sperm contains the 37.5mb of male DNA required to create a human child. That means an average ejaculation sees the transfer of 1,500 terabytes of information.

Your body produces 25 million new cells each second. Every 13 seconds, you produce more cells than there are people in the United States.

Humans are bioluminescent and glow in the dark. The light that we emit is 1,000 times weaker than our human eyes are able to pick up.

Humans shed 40 pounds of skin in their lifetime, completely replacing their outer skin every month.

In one day, your blood travels 12,000 miles around your body. That's four times the distance across the US from coast-to-coast.

Our brain's connected neurons look similar to the structure of the universe. In a way, our brains are modeled after the universe.

Around 90% of the cells that make humans aren't “human" in origin. We're mostly fungi and bacteria.

Along with the five traditional senses of sound, sight, touch, smell and taste, humans have 15 “other senses." These include balance, temperature, pain and time as well as internal senses for suffocation, thirst, and fullness.

You're a little richer than you might think. Inside all of us is around 0.2 milligrams of gold, most of which is in our blood Sadly, you'd need the blood of around 40,000 people to collect enough gold to make one 8g coin.

The human brain uses 20% of the entire body's oxygen and calorie intake, despite only accounting for about 2% of an adult's body mass.

If you stretched out the 300,000,000 capillaries in your lungs end to end, the line would extend from Seattle to San Diego, or about 1,300 miles.

Some women see more colors than everyone else. Most people have three types of color receptors to see color vision, while some women have four or even five of these receptors and can see a wider range of colors.

A condition called synesthesia can cause senses to overlap. In other words, some people can taste words or hear colors.

The need to breathe so much is due to carbon dioxide buildup more than the need for oxygen. If there was a different way to get rid of carbon dioxide from the blood, we would only need to breathe at a rate of about once per minute.

Crying alleviates stress and allows humans to decrease feelings of anger and sadness. It physically does help to let it out.

Must Read!!! 10 Amazing Facts about our Body

According to Breakingmuscle.com these are the 10 amazing facts about our body that will surely amaze you.

1. For every pound of fat gained, you add seven miles of new blood vessels.

New tissue needs blood supply, so your vascular system expands to accommodate it. This also means your heart must work harder to pump blood through the new network, which may reduce oxygenation and nutrient replenishment in other tissues. Lose a pound? Your body will break down and reabsorb the unneeded blood vessels from the previous tissue.

2. Muscle tissue is three times more efficient at burning calories than fat.

This is why possessing more muscle should be a training goal for most people. More muscle = more calories burned = less fat = being more fit looking. Simple goals and simple math.

3. You are taller in the morning than in the evening.

When you crawl out of the sack in the morning you are at your tallest. On average, you are approximately one half inch taller when you wake in the morning, thanks to excess fluid between within your spinal discs. While you are sleeping, these fluids replenish. During the day your body has to deal with the stress of standing, so the discs become compressed and the fluid seeps out. This results in you losing a small amount of extra height.

4. Your stomach manufactures a new lining every three days to avoid digesting itself.

As a part of the digestive process, your stomach secretes hydrochloric acid (HA). HA is a powerful corrosive compound also used to treat various metals. The HA your stomach secretes is also powerful, but mucous lining the stomach wall keeps it within the digestive system. As a result it breaks down the food you consume, but not your own stomach.

5. Your body produces enough heat in only thirty minutes to boil a half-gallon of water.

Your body is the epitome of a study on the laws of thermodynamics. You produce heat from all that is going on - exercise, metabolizing food, maintaining homeostasis – and as you sweat, exhale, excrete, and urinate (lovely thoughts, all of them).

6. Human bone is as strong as granite, relative to supporting resistance.

Would you believe a matchbox-size chunk of bone can support 18,000 pounds? Compared to concrete, human bone is four times greater in support strength.

7. Your skin is an organ.

Just like the liver, heart, and kidneys, your outer covering is an organ. An average man has enough skin on his body to cover approximately twenty square feet. For an average woman it is approximately seventeen square feet. Approximately 12% of your weight is from your skin. And, your skin replaces 45,000+ cells in only a few seconds. It's constantly growing new skin and shedding old skin.

8. By the age of eighteen your brain stops growing.

From that age forward it begins to losemore than 1,000 brain cells every day. Only two percent of your body weight is occupied by your gray matter, but is uses up to 20% of your overall energy output (it needs carbohydrates). Your brain works continuously and never rests, even when you're asleep. Aside from producing REM dreams, your brain works overtime to replenish its ability to function normally during your daytime waking hours.

9. There are more than 600 individual skeletal muscles and 206 bones in your body.

If all 600+ muscles contracted and pulled in the same direction, you could lift over twenty tons of resistance. Additionally, the adult skeleton is composed of 206 bones, but at birth an infant skeleton contains approximately 350 bones. Over time, some of the 350 bones fuse together and eventually grow to the 206 adult figure.

10. You need to consume a quart of water each day for four months to equate to the amount of blood your heart pumps in one hour.

Additionally, over a lifetime, at your normal (resting) heart rate you will have pumped enough blood to fill thirteen oil super tankers. To further expound on this fact, on average, your heart beats 40,000,000 times per year. Doing the math, over your lifetime (both men and women averaged), that results in 2,600,000,000 heartbeats (two billion, six hundred million). This does not even factor in your increased heartbeats due to your love of exercise.

These are only ten things you probably did not know about body. Pretty amazing stuff! There is plenty more to know about the human body, and I recommend you discover these facts by being inquisitive.

Are there any amazing facts about the human body that you’ve discovered? Please share in the comments below.

According to results, this causes rapid weight gain. It also prevents sugar breakdown, significantly accelerating the risk of diabetes.

4. Soda

In the U.S., soda is the second most-preferred beverage of choice after water. One bottle of soda contains 44 grams of sugar.

The excess sugar from the soda drinks is stored as fat which leads to obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure.

Daily consumption of 1 to 2 cans of soda elevates the risk of diabetes in young adults and increases the risk of developing gout for both men and women.

Colas, in particular, also contain phosphoric acid that inhibits calcium absorption, weakens bones and increases the risk of osteoporosis.

5. Microwave Popcorn

According to many researches and studies microwave popcorn bags are lined with certain chemicals to keep the grease from leaking out, when the bags are heated, the chemicals leak into the popcorn. Other studies in the U.S. have also proven exposure to PFOA chemicals is a major cause of breast, kidney and testicular cancer. These chemicals also increase cholesterol levels and, consequently, the risk of chronic heart disease.

6. Deep-Fried Foods

Deep-fried foods like French fries, potato chips, onion rings, and fried chicken and breaded cutlets are exceptionally delicious, but also exceptionally unhealthy. Eating this type of food on regular daily basis increases the cholesterol and clogs arteries.

Furthermore, carbohydrate-rich foods like potatoes, when fried at high temperatures, produce acrylamide – a substance that increases the risk of cancer.

7. Instant noodles

8. Canned Foods

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a compound found in canned food linings that leaks into the food and, upon consumption, causes myriad health problems.

It interferes with the hormone and gene regulation system of the body and is linked with problems like early puberty, obesity and cancers.

A 2013 study published in Human Reproduction noted that BPA consumed through food led to egg mutations in women, leading to difficulties conceiving a child. BPA may even promote breast cancer growth.

9. Soy Protein

According a 2010 report submitted to the US Environment Protection Agency and the European Food Safety Authority, exposure to glyphosate sprays in Argentina used in soybean cultivation resulted in a significant increase in pregnancy complications, neural deformities, miscarriages, birth defects and cancer. Almost all of the soybeans cultivated in the U.S. are genetically engineered and sprayed with an herbicide called glyphosate for protection from weeds.

Processed oil and protein from soybeans is found in myriad food products and are popularly consumed. So, the herbicide is consumed along with it.

10. White Bread

When white flour is manufactured, the germ and bran are removed. Therefore, white flour is stripped of nutrients, and all that remains is the starch.

Starch increases the blood sugar level in your body, raising the risk of diabetes. The excess blood sugar also carries the risk of converting into fat and being stored away in the body. Gradually, this increases the risk of excessive weight gain.
